You are more than what’s on the surface.

Trauma-informed therapy for people of color who learned that being enough meant doing more, and who are tired of what it costs.

WHY UNDERTONE

An undertone is the color beneath the color, the thing that decides how everything else shows up, even when no one names it.

Most of the people I work with are very good on the surface. They perform, deliver, and hold it together. This is the place for who you are underneath what you do.

When your worth depends on how you perform

Maybe you were taught you had to be twice as good. Maybe you've been the only one in the room, or the one everyone was counting on. Somewhere along the way, how well you performed became how much you were worth. That works until it doesn't. This isn't about fixing you. The pressure to prove yourself was shaped by systems that gave you less room for error. We'll name that honestly, and then decide together what you want to keep.

This is the place for you if:

— Your anxiety spikes before the game, the presentation, or the review
— A setback, injury, or rejection made you question who you are
— You're working hard and feel stuck, with no clear direction

— Something that defined you ended, and you don't know what's next
— You reached the goal and still don't feel like enough
— You carry the weight of representing more than yourself

These patterns aren’t personal failures. They are survival strategies.

Areas of Focus

Relational Trauma

Attachment wounds, emotional neglect, betrayal, hyper-independence.

Racial Trauma & Identity Stress

Microaggressions, workplace invisibility, generational pressure, code-switching fatigue.

Masking & Overfunctioning

Holding it together on the outside, whether that's code-switching, compensating for ADHD that was missed or dismissed, or working twice as hard to look effortless.

Performance Anxiety

Pressure before big moments, replaying mistakes, a nervous system that won't stand down when it counts.
